Landscaping can truly improve and enhance the look and feel of your home. It’s nice to have beautiful scenery when enjoying your outdoor living space. Generally, when people landscape with mulch and rocks they do so in a garden area. The mulch is beneficial to the plants and is also decorative. The rocks add to the look to complete the landscaped design. Decide where you want to landscape. Prepare the soil in that location by removing the sod with a landscaping spade, also known as a flat shovel. Remove all of the exposed rocks. Rake the soil lightly using a stone rake. Remove any rocks that raking brings up. Lay down landscaping fabric that has been cut to the size of the area you have prepared. Use fabric pegs to hold the fabric down. Use landscaping fabric to prevent the growth of weeds and to help retain moisture.
