How do you know where biological agents, toxins or delivery systems identified by the USA Patriot Act are used on campus?
Working with Principal Investigators and Laboratory Directors, the TTU Office of the Provost and the TTUHSC Office of the Associate Vice President for Research identifies campus facilities that use these agents, toxins or delivery systems and positions within the laboratories that have access to them. Whenever an identified position in one of those laboratories is advertised, the Requisition form sent to the Recruiting Office will indicate that the position falls under the provisions of the USA Patriot Act. This will require that the applicant selected must pass a Dept of Justice “Security Clearance” review before permitted to begin work in a lab where a select agent(s) are used.
