How do you know that better management of off-road vehicles within the national park will benefit wildlife?
While the National Park Service worked on permanent rules, wildlife on the Seashore already improved under the temporary science-based management plan of the 2008 consent decree. This plan was agreed to by stakeholders including conservation groups, ORV enthusiast groups, local governments, and federal agencies. The increase in the numbers of nesting birds and sea turtles at the Seashore is encouraging and shows that responsible park management can be achieved.
