Yellow-spotted spider mites are warm-weather mites that attack and live on more than 18 different types of plants. These mites suck the juice from plants, and reproduce very quickly once they settle. Take some steps to kill these insects before they become an infestation. Diagnose the problem. Two-spotted spider mites become active in April and May. These tiny insects cluster on the undersides of leaves and lay hundreds of eggs at a time. Plants that have wilting, holey leaves and are covered in small, web-like structures are infested with spider mites. Create moist conditions to get rid of the spider mites. Spider mites prefer hot, arid environments and suffer when there is too much moisture. Spray your plants twice a day with your hose. Release lacewing moths and ladybugs, available at home garden shops. These predator insects eat the larvae of spider
