How Do You Kill Fire Ants Naturally With Hot Water?

0

If you hate the thought of using toxic pesticides in the yard where your children and pets play, here is a safer way of killing fire ants that really works. You will want to have as much of the colony up near the surface to kill so you should bait them with some pieces of hot dog or other table scraps. Wait until late afternoon when the ants are most active and feeding on the table scraps. Boil a large pot of water on the stove (if you have an outdoor fish fryer do boil it outdoors near the mounds). Make sure your path is clear of obstacles and children are out of the house since boiling water is very dangerous. Using gloves and wearing goggles carry the pot of hot boiling water outside and slowly and carefully pour it on the mounds. This will kill most of the mound instantly. For very deep mounds you may need to repeat the process.
