The queen ant is the mother of all the ants in a colony, so in order to completely eliminate a colony of ants you must kill the queen ant to stop her from producing more offspring. Because the queen ant is normally located below the ground in a nest, it is often hard to destroy her without digging into the colony and risking painful or even dangerous ant bites and stings. To kill the queen ant you must create an ant bait or sweet that contains a sugary attractant and the appropriate amount of poison to keep the worker ants alive long enough to infect the nest and destroy the queen and colony. Create a powder mixture of boric acid and sugar by combining two parts of boric acid to one part of sugar using measuring spoons.
