Here’s your solution. Purchase a submersible pump, the type that is used to empty out flooded basements. You can buy a fancy one that starts automatically when water builds up if you like but that will cost quite a bit more. The smallest size submersible pump will likely work just fine. A good source for these pumps is a home improvement store, hardware store or discount tool store. You’ll also need a garden hose and an outdoor extension cord. Attach the hose and the extension cord to the submersible pump. Run the other end of the hose to a good drainage area in your yard and position the other end of the extension cord near an outdoor electrical outlet.
