Use thermacol to build a box of your required dimensions.Make the box using tape or glue, whatever you like.Make sure to have a lid made thermacol fixed with tape to one side so that you can open and close the lid.Now fill the box with cotton on all the sides, bottom and four sides and leave enough space for the ice in the middle of the box from the top.You make an U like space in the box.Keep the ice cube and cover the remaining space with cotton. You can open and close the lid and also remove the cotton on the top to show the ice cube. Best of Luck………………..

The trick is to understand why the ice melts in the first place. The reason is that heat from its surroundings, ( the surface it’s in contact with and the air) enters the cube giving it the energy to melt. So, the key is to stop that heat reaching the cube. What you want is a material that is a heat insulator (something that does not allow heat to transfer). Polystyrene is a reasonably good insulator of this type and is relatively easy to obtain. You could try make a little polystyrene ‘jacket’ for your ice cube (using polystyrene sheet) or you could break-up one of those polystyrene cups into fine bubbles and then half fill an egg cup , then drop the ice cube in, before finally completely covering the ice cube with more of the polystyrene.
