The PaperPort One Touch Monitor software is included with many scanners on the market today. By default, the program is set to load each time the computer is powered on. However, this program can quickly become a nuisance for users who scan documents and photos infrequently as it uses system memory, even when it is idle. While you can continually close the software each time your system loads, a more convenient solution is to prevent it from opening all together. This way, you can open the software when it is needed, and it will remain closed when it is not. Open the Start menu and click “Run.” Type “MSCONFIG” in the text box and click “Run” to open the System Configuration window. Windows Vista and 7 users can type “MSCONFIG” directly into the search box on the Start Menu. Click on the tab labeled “Startup” in the System Configuration window.
