How Do You Keep A California King Snake?
• Know what you are looking for. There are several species of king snakes- Mountain King Snake, California King Snake, Scarlet King Snake, and a few more. • Know what their size can be. Most of them reach about 6 feet in length, and they get about as thick as your arm, maybe even thicker. • Learn what their life span is. They reach about 20 years or a little more. • Realize that they need live food. (Yes that includes those cute little mice!) When they are babies, feed them a pinky mouse every week. When they are a little older, a fuzzy mouse every week/two weeks. When they are adults, a regular full-grown mouse every week/two weeks • Provide them the appropriate housing. They should be kept in a 20-25 gallon tank, and should have a heating lamp, fresh water, a turtle hut, and some rocks and some sand to slither on.
