Research work undertaken for this Uranium mine is applied elsewhere in tropical regions. Collection of baseline data also finds applications elsewhere (monitoring programs and rapid assessment in the characterisation of tropical ecosystems. Also, Ranger and Jabiluka are surrounded by Kakadu National Park, a world heritage listed area. The Government takes its responsibility to ensure this area very seriously, and is prepared to devote significant resources to that task.
