A woman who can prove lineal descent to a Union Veteran is eligible to join the daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War. Research your family tree to determine if you have an ancestor who was a Union veteran of the Civil War. Visit the DUVCW website for contact information for you local Tent. A Tent is a local group named after an Army nurse who served during the Civil War. Call or email the contact person listed for your local Tent. This person can assist you with determining the required paperwork needed for membership, which can include your ancestor’s military records and birth and death certificates for your lineage.
