How Do You Join AVI Files With Virtualdub?
Sometimes an AVI file must be split to fit on a CD or other media storage. Using VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod, you can splice together two or more AVI files to create a single movie. Open VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod on your computer. Select “Direct Stream Copy” mode from the “Video” menu. Select “Source Audio” and “Direct Stream Copy” from the “Audio” menu. Open the video file you wish to show first in your movie. Go to the “File” menu and select “Open,” then use the file selection to find, select and open the file. Scroll to the end of the file by dragging the slider to the farthest right position. Select “Append AVI Segment” from the “File” menu. Choose the video file you wish to join at the end of the previous movie. Select “Save as AVI” under the “File” menu. Name your file, using the appropriate file extension “.avi,” and save it.
