How Do You Join A Synchronized Swimming Team?
Synchronized swimming can traces its history back to 1907 when Annette Kellerman performed underwater ballet at the New York Hippodrome. The first US competition was in 1939. Synchronized swimming is a great team sport for people who enjoy tumbling, swimming and music. Find a synchronized swimming team in your community. Some high schools and colleges have teams. Call around and see if there’s one you can join. Get involved in the Get In Synch program. It’s a beginner’s level synchronized swimming league which is an official program of United States Synchronized Swimming. The United States Synchronized Swimming Foundation supports Get In Synch. Look for a USA Synchro class in your area. There’s a search tool online to help. Or, you can email USA Synchro for more information. Know that USA Synchro clubs offer synchronized swimming for all levels, from beginner to advanced. Join USA Synchro if you want to participate in sanctioned meets.
