How Do You Iron Sheer 100% Polyester Fabric?
Since its invention in 1941, polyester has become a useful fabric because of its “wash and go” quality, according to nyfashioncenterfabrics.com. However, if it gets wrinkled, it is hard to bring it back to looking right because it doesn’t take ironing well. But there are ways to make sheer polyester wrinkle-free. Wet your garment by putting it in a tub with cold water to make it completely wet. Slightly twist it to get rid of excess water. Spread the garment on the ironing board. Cover it completely with an ironing cloth. Put the iron steam setting on high or automatic. Pour water in the reservoir and let it heat up. You can raise the temperature one point higher than the polyester setting. Iron the garment through the ironing cloth as you normally would. Make sure the iron doesn’t directly touch the fabric. Press the iron hard and use the steam. The moisture in the fabric prevents the hot steam from ruining it.
