How Do You Install XP On A SATA Hard Drive?
Installing Microsoft XP on a SATA drive adds an extra step into the installation process. Without understanding the correct procedure, this can be a frustration. However, by following these steps anyone will be able to install Microsoft XP on a SATA drive. Download the Microsoft XP SATA driver from your motherboard manufacturer. Extract this driver, if necessary, and copy the driver onto a diskette. Insert this driver diskette into the floppy drive on the system you are going to load XP on. (Please note: If the system does not have a floppy drive, you can temporarily install one.) Insert the Microsoft XP Operating System Installation CD into the CD-ROM (or DVD-ROM) drive and with the computer’s BIOS set to “Boot from CDROM” first, power up the system. When prompted by the following message, “Press any key to boot from CD,” press a key on the keyboard. Press “Enter” when prompted at the “Welcome to Setup” screen. Watch the bottom of the blue setup screen carefully, and when presented wi
