However, by following these steps anyone will be able to install Microsoft XP on a SATA drive. Download the Microsoft XP SATA driver from your motherboard manufacturer. Extract this driver, if necessary, and copy the driver onto a diskette. Insert this driver diskette into the floppy drive on the system you are going to load XP on. (Please note: If the system does not have a floppy drive, you can temporarily install one.) Insert the Microsoft XP Operating System Installation CD into the CD-ROM (or DVD-ROM) drive and with the computer’s BIOS set to “Boot from CDROM” first, power up the system.
