How Do You Install Wireless Broadcom 802.11B/G?
Broadcom’s 802.11b/g, known as AirForce, is an internal laptop wireless card. It comes packaged with some laptop computers and can be installed as an aftermarket addition. If your computer has an internal wireless card slot, you can quickly install a Broadcom AirForce card and access wireless networks at top speeds. Switch off your laptop, unplug it and remove the battery. This reduces the risk of electrical shock from accessing internal parts. Flip over the laptop and locate the wireless card compartment. It may have a small wireless tower icon or say “Wireless Card.” Remove the screws around the compartment and remove the cover. The wireless card is attached in a spring-loaded compartment, held down by two swivel pins. Push the swivel pins aside until the wireless card pops up. Gently pull it out of the slot and set it aside. Insert the Broadcom 802.11b/g card in the same place and press it down until the pins pop into place over it. Replace the lid and screws.
