Installing new windows can be sometimes challenging, depending on what type of siding you have on your home. Disturbing the siding can cause unwanted problems and extra costs. The solution for homes with lap siding is to remove and install new windows from the inside of the home. Put on all protective gear. Lay down some drop cloths inside on the floor. Cut away the window trim paint and silicone seal with a utility knife. Pry off the window trim with a crowbar. Remove any nails with the hammer. If you trim is held in place with screws, then use the cordless drill and screw bits to remove it. Cut out any window insulation that might be in the way with the utility knife. Cut any nails or screws holding the window to the wall studs with the sawzall. Have a helper hold the window while you do this. Be careful not to cut into the outside wall or siding.
