How Do You Install Weatherstripping In A Car Vent Window?

Weatherstripping is an important mechanism in today’s automobiles as it keeps out wind, water, and snow while providing a tight seal between your window and door. Window vents are one area of a car in which the outside elements can sometimes infiltrate if they are not sufficiently sealed. Weatherstripping accomplishes this, but can wear out over time and lose its ability to seal out the elements. However, it is possible for the home mechanic to reinstall aftermarket weatherstripping and seal up their car windows as if it was just driven off of the lot. Determine how many windows are going to need weather stripping. Roll down each window and check all of the connections the glass has with the inside and outside of the door. Look for cracked or missing weather stripping. Use the pliers to push on the weather stripping to see if it is hard or soft. If the stripping is hard and brittle, it needs replaced. Use the razor blade knife and needle-nose pliers to remove the old weather stripping.
