This small unit is what provides the random pattern that guides the Aquabug around so it covers all parts of the pool bottom during its cleaning cycle. Installing the gearbox requires no tools. It is a closed assembly so you don’t have to handle the gears inside. Here’s how to install the gearbox. Lay the gearbox on the work bench so the 4 tabs are up. Pick up the nylon bushing and note that it has a square hole in the middle. This square hole fits over the square shaft protruding up from the gearbox. Push the bushing onto the shaft. Push the black plastic controller onto the square shaft over the bushing. This piece looks like a disc attached to a shaft.
