How do you install the Footwell Illumination Kit (H201SSC000) into the 9 FXT/WRX/STI?
Today I installed the blue footwell lights in my 09 Forester. I don’t have any pictures yet. I installed it myself. If I can do it anybody can. The instructions are not great. The toughest part for me was figuring out that the metal bracket is not used for the passenger side for the Forester. Removing the light from the bracket was tricky but I got it off. I had to bend the bracket to get it out. There is no splicing of wires. The harness that it comes with plugs into the harness for the little cubbie hole light. Running the wire over to the driver’s side and then to the passenger’s side was not difficult at all. On the driver’s side, there is already a hole drilled to mount the light with the supplied hardware. On the passenger side, they give you a template to show where it goes. This is a little tricky. They suggest drilling a hole to run the harness through. I did not do this step. I honestly saw no reason to drill a hole when the harness can be easily tucked around the plastic cov
