How Do You Install Swivels On A Ruger 10/22?
Sling swivels attach a rifle sling to your Ruger 10/22 and give you a way to safely carry the gun when your hands are full or when your arms need a rest. If your rifle did not come with swivels installed, it is fairly easy to install a set yourself, regardless of how experienced a gunsmith you happen to be. Install the drill guide 3 inches up from the butt stock of the 10/22 on the bottom side (the portion of the gun facing the ground when you are shooting) of the rifle butt. Make sure the guide is centered on the spine of the stock as this will be what keeps the drill bit straight as you drill into the stock. Use plenty of masking tape to secure the guide to the stock.
