How Do You Install Styrofoam Crown Molding?
Crown molding is installed at the top of the wall where it meets the ceiling. It gives a room a finished and elegant look. Styrofoam crown molding is a modern alternative to wood that costs less and is easier to install. Sketch the room where the molding is to be installed. Measure the walls, being sure to count the inside and outside corners. Paint the crown molding with water-based or latex paint. Use a high quality brush or a spray applicator. Allow to dry overnight. Place the end pieces on a miter box. Cut the edges on a 45-degree angle. Test the ends to make sure they fit together. Apply adhesive to the back of the molding in a zig-zag pattern. Press the corner pieces to the top of the wall. Hold the pieces in place for a few minutes. Watch for 20 to 30 minutes to make sure the pieces adhere to the wall.
