How Do You Install Stick On Tiles Over Plywood?
Stick-on, or self-adhesive, tiles are an inexpensive flooring option that are easy for a homeowner to install. They have adhesive on the back, so glue and tools to apply glue are not required. They look great and add value to your home without requiring a lot of special tools or experience laying tile. Plywood is a recommended subflooring for applying self-adhesive tiles. Check that all screws or nails are below the surface of the plywood. Run the flat edge of the drywall knife across all screws or nails. If it hits the head of a screw or nail, either screw or hammer the head below the surface of the plywood. Use a drywall knife to cover all screw or nail heads with leveling compound so each area is level with the surrounding plywood. Cover all seams with leveling compound by pressing the compound between the plywood sheets, again using the drywall knife. Measure the lengths of two opposing walls of equal length. Divide by two. Mark each wall with this measurement. The marks should be
