You have decided to replace your old exhaust pipe on your car, ATV, motorcycle, or other motorsport vehicle with nice, new stainless steel exhaust tubing. It is going to make your “ride” look better and perform more efficiently.For the purpose of this article, we will assume that the old exhaust system has already been removed, and the muffler and all sections of the tailpipe have been re-installed, and you are ready to install the new stainless steel exhaust tubing. Step 1 Measure the distance between the catalytic converter outlet and the muffler inlet. Step 2 Add 5 inches to this measurement to allow for the fitting of the slip joints. Step 3 Cut the straight pipe to match the measurement figures. Step 4 Install the straight pipe between the catalytic converter or carburetor and the muffler.
