How Do You Install Sink Drain Pipes?
Drain pipes are easily removed and replaced today thanks to the invention of the plastic or PVC pipe. These inventions allow the homeowner to have a choice on calling a plumber or replacing the drain pipes themselves. Place the small bucket under the S-trap. Locate the nut in the center of the S-trap that connects the two pieces of the S-trap. Loosen and remove. If the nut is too tight use the water pump pliers. Gently swivel this part of the S-trap away from the part it was attached to. This will allow some of the water in the S-trap to flow into the bucket. Locate the nut just below the drain flange. Try removing it by hand. If this doesn’t work gently grip the nut with the water pump pliers and loosen it. Allow the drain pipes to fall into the bucket to prevent water from spilling onto the cabinet floor. Locate and loosen the nut that connects the remaining S-trap to the floor extension and remove it.
