Dell’s Dimension E520 is a desktop computer that has the capacity to hold up to two hard drives at once. If you have the computer already configured with one hard drive, you can add a second one to the computer to increase the amount of data that can be stored on the machine. Installing a second hard drive requires some basic computer hardware knowledge. Turn off your computer, remove all of the cables and place the computer on its side. Depress the large latch at the back of the computer to pop off the side of the computer, revealing the internals. Slide the empty hard drive casing out of the computer, and attach it to your second hard drive by snapping it around the drive until it is secure. Slide the drive into the location where you removed the hard drive casing, and then attach the power cable (which is also attached to the main hard drive) to the secondary hard drive.
