How Do You Install Replacement Light Switch Plates?

0

Changing light switch plates is a great, extremely inexpensive way to leave your personal mark on your home. Whether it be a new purchase, or a home you’ve been in possession of for a while, replacing the current light switch plates can really spruce it up. The first thing you need to do is note which kind of light switch plate you currently have (how many switches and outlets). You can pick up replacements at Lowes or Home Depot, or even various websites across the internet. Safety is a step which you must not bypass. Be sure to turn off the electricity from your home’s circuit breaker box. You don’t want to end up getting electrocuted. On the existing light switch plate, there should be screws holding it in place. Remove these screws with a screwdriver. Your new plate should come with matching screws. Line up the new plate where the previous one was installed. Hold it in place firmly and screw the plate to the wall. Voila! You’re done! And no doubt it looks great.
