How Do You Install RAID Hard Drives?
A Redundant Array of Independent Disks setup in your home computer can serve dual purposes. A “RAID 0” configuration essentially transforms two smaller hard drives into one large one, running synchronously. A “RAID 1” configuration enables “drive mirroring,” backing up every piece of data from one hard drive to the other in real time. RAID support comes from your motherboard, so make sure your motherboard supports it before you attempt a RAID setup. Remove the side panel of your computer case. Unscrew any screws holding the panel on and place them aside. Slide the panel away from the case and place it aside. Locate the hard drive bay inside your chassis. It’s usually at the front of the case, but its location can vary from chassis to chassis. Consult your owner’s manual if you’re unsure of its location. If the bay is removable, remove it from the case to make mounting your hard drives easier. Mount the hard drives in the drive bay. Screw each screw into the holes on the sides of the dr
