Fluorescent light fixtures offer bright light and are often useful in poorly lit areas of your home like garages and basements. Installing fluorescent light fixtures is an easy project for those who are somewhat comfortable working with a circuit box and with your home’s electrical system. Turn the power supply to your home completely off. It is possible that you could only turn off the power to the particular circuit box you are going to be working on, but just to be safe, turning of all power is a good idea by going to your home’s fuse box and flipping the main switch at the top of the box. Locate the circuit box that you are going to be installing your fluorescent light fixture to. Remove any existing light fixtures that are attached to this circuit box. Remove the screws that are attaching the fixture to the circuit box and slide the wiring out of the circuit box.
