Instead of trying to size the drawer box front to exactly fit the opening of the drawer, a drawer front easily covers the front of the drawer and the associated opening. Installing a false drawer front is a relatively easy task once you know where to start. Drill four countersunk pilot holes into the front of the drawer, one at each corner. Once finished, use a screwdriver to screw the false front mounting screws into the drawer. Screw the mounting screws from the inside of the drawer. The screw tips should just barely show through the front of the drawer. Place the drawer into the cabinet. Place the false drawer front into the drawer opening and shim it on all four sides with pennies so that the drawer front has an even gap on all sides and line ups with adjoining drawers.
