A range hood with ductwork usually exhausts heat and grease outside the home, while a ductless-type hood pulls the air in through the vent, recycles the air, and then disperses it back through the front of the hood. Installing a ductless hood is simple Turn the range hood upside down on the floor so that you can remove the filter and bottom cover, using a screwdriver. Punch out the knockout hole on the back of the range hood that matches the electrical setup of your home, using a hammer and screwdriver, so that you can connect the electrical wires later.
