How Do You Install Dual Video Cards?
Computers require a graphic video accelerator to process the intense video images created while watching video, surfing the Internet or playing graphics-intensive video games. Some computers allow the system to run two video cards at once for even more video acceleration. Turn off all power to the computer by removing the power cord from the rear of the unit. Press and hold the power button to dissipate any residual internal charges. Open the computer case with a screwdriver or remove the thumbscrews found on the rear or sides of the case. Locate the motherboard inside the computer case. On the motherboard there are two or more PCI Express slots. These slots hold the dual video cards side by side. Find the SLI switch located between the two PCI Express slots and switch to “Dual” mode. On newer computers, this switch is software driven and is not located on the motherboard.
