Installing a vent in a knee wall is very similar to installation in a typical exterior wall. Installing a dryer vent kit will allow your dryer to discharge the air from the tumbler as new air is heated, keeping the air circulating freely. With the kit and a few tools, you’ll drill an entry point into the knee wall and route the exhaust pipe over to the rear of the dryer for connections. Slide the stud finder along the knee wall and mark the locations of the studs. This will help avoid them as you drill through the wall. Attach the hole saw into the end of the drill and drill a 4 1/2-inch hole completely through the wall. From the outside, slide the end of the vent pipe through the wall and into the inside. Using the screwdriver and included screw, attach the outside vent housing to the wall to secure it in place Measure the distance from the vent to the rear of the dryer vent.
