How Do You Install Debian On An Alienware Laptop?
Alienware laptops are some of the most advanced portable gaming machines available. With a little forethought and effort, you can install the powerful Debian/Linux operating system onto one, providing stability and efficiency to an already powerful piece of hardware. Turn on the laptop and watch the opening screen. Somewhere, on the first screen shown, there will be instructions for accessing the BIOS (also known as “setup”). Reboot the machine and press whichever key was indicated. Once you are in the BIOS utility, search among the options until you find a section which allows you to change the boot order. The boot order determines where the computer looks for the operating system first. Normally, computers are set to look on a hard drive first. Set the boot order so that the computer will choose either the CD/DVD drive or a USB drive before it looks at the hard drive. Insert your installation program, connect the ethernet cable to your laptop and your network, and reboot the machine.
