How do you install crown moulding and which side goes up?
Crown Mouldings are mitered with a compound cut because they fit at an angle between the wall and ceiling. Place the crown upside down in the miter box so that the surface that will fit against the wall is against the back of the box. For a crown outside corner, cut the top part of the moulding that will be the longest point. When viewed from the decorative side, the cut surface will be on the backside. For a crown inside corner, cut the bottom of the piece that will be the longest. When viewed from the decorative side, the cut surface will be visible.
