How Do You Install Claw-Foot Bathtub Feet?
Clawfoot tubs make a wonderful addition to any bathroom. Unfortunately, they aren’t always in perfect shape. If your tub is in good shape, but needs new feet, you’re in luck. The feet on which the tub sits are replaceable. Most clawfoot tubs have four feet and they come in all sizes. Installing replacement feet on the clawfoot tub isn’t difficult, but it does require some preparation. Note how the old feet are positioned on your tub. Pay attention to exactly where they are fitted and how the bolts and washers are affixed to the old feet. Lay a blanket over a table that sits at a comfortable height. Make sure that the table is very sturdy, since clawfoot tubs are notoriously heavy. You’ll need to be working beneath the tub, so be careful. Instruct your helpers to hold the tub securely on each end. Begin on the drain end of the tub. Be very careful not to scratch the finish on the tub, or you’ll need to buy a patch kit. Line the middle of the foot up with the hole, and place the bolt thr
