How Do You Install Ceramic Tile On The Shower Floor?
Installing ceramic tile on a shower floor can be a complicated project because of the drain. Normally when you tile a floor, you start at the center of the room and build the grid outward toward the walls. On a shower floor, the drain is usually in the center, where your starting intersection would normally be. The solution is to lay out your tile as if the drain isn’t there, then cut the tiles as needed to skirt the edge of it. Measure the base of each shower wall to find the middle, and mark it on the floor with your pencil. Use your level to mark two lines straight across the floor in two directions, intersecting each other at the drain. Lay tracing paper over the drain. Use your pencil to trace around the edge of the drain, making the circle about 1/4 inch wider all around. Use your scissors to cut out the circle. Lay the circle of tracing paper on cardboard.
