How Do You Install CD-ROM Drivers From A CD?

0

When installing a new CD-ROM drive on your computer, you must also install drivers. Without the drivers the computer doesn’t know how to use the connected hardware. However, if the CD-ROM’s drivers come on a CD, the only way you can install the drivers is if you have a separate drive already connected and running on the computer. The computer doesn’t understand the new drive yet, so attempting to install the content via the new CD drive would not work. Insert the driver installation CD into the old drive that is already running on your computer. Momentarily the driver installation wizard loads. Click “Next” on the welcome page, then accept the license agreement if given. Select “Next” on the installation location and installation name. Do not change these; otherwise the computer may have a hard time recognizing the drivers. Click “Install” and the CD-ROM drivers install onto your computer.
