Installing new speakers into a car for any reason, whether simply replacing old factory speakers or upgrading speakers, can be more trouble than expected. Many factor speakers are connected via quick connectors, meaning that only speakers with the same connector will just “pop” back into the original wiring. Sometimes the wiring may go bad, or might need to be upgraded for higher output speakers. Both of these instances may require the need to run additional speaker wire. Remove the original speaker by unscrewing the mounting screws. Door-mounted speakers may require removing a speaker panel (usually these just pop off) or, potentially, the entire door.
