The handheld controller for your telescope will help you control the telescope when not in direct proximity. Follow these steps to insert the batteries into the handheld controller. Find the battery compartments on the handheld controller. They are on top of the drive base. Lift the battery holders from their compartments. Insert the four C-Cell batteries into each battery holder. These C-Cell batteries came with your telescope. Put the battery holders back into the battery compartment. Put the cover back on the battery compartment.
