How Do You Install Barbed Wire Fencing?
You can install a barbed wire fence that will last for years, provided that you observe a few basic guidelines. There are three essential steps: setting the H-brace corners and steel fence posts; putting up the wire and stretching it; and attaching the wire to the posts. Use the post-hole digger to make a three-foot deep post hole. Place the corner post in the hole and pour concrete in around the post, leaving a four-inch gap at the top for drainage. Use a carpenter’s level to make sure the post is level top to bottom. Measure seven feet away from the post and dig a hole for the brace post. Set the brace post the same way you set the corner post, making sure it is level. Mark a spot 12 inches from the inside top of the corner post and brace post. Use a power drill and 3/8-inch bit to drill a hole about three-quarters of the way through the posts. Hammer a 10″ x 3/8″ brace pin into the hole in the corner post.
