How Do You Install An Outside Security Light On Brick?
Installing an outside light on brick is not hard to do, but it will take about an hour to an hour and a half to cut through the brick and run new wiring to the light. It is important to have an understanding of how to wire a light and how to splice in to existing wiring. There are several steps listed, but in reality it does not take as long as it sounds. Determine the location of the new security light. The best scenario is to locate the light on an outside wall near an existing electrical outlet located on the inside wall. This will make it easier to connect into existing wiring and will take less new wire. Use the open end of the round gang box as a template. Hold the open end of the box to the brick at the location where you plan to install the light. Use your pencil to draw around the box. This is where you cut the hole in the brick for the new wiring.
