How Do You Install An Intake Manifold?
The intake manifold of an engine distributes the air/fuel mixture into the individual cylinders. Over time, the ability of the intake manifold to distribute this mixture efficiently can be seriously impaired due to a buildup of various deposits inside it. In addition, fluids that circulate though the engine can enter the manifold and end up being burned inside the cylinders if the intake manifold gaskets break down. Follow the steps bellow to install an intake manifold. Clean all gasket surfaces with a putty knife. Carefully scrape the old gasket material off of the manifold mating surfaces to ensure that the new manifold will seal properly. Take care not to gouge these mating surfaces with the putty knife. Install the new intake manifold gaskets with gasket sealer, which is readily available at most automotive supply stores. There are four gaskets here, one for each side of the manifold. The gasket sealer should be liberally applied to both sides of each gasket. Carefully rest each ga
