Your home heating system is controlled through a thermostat. Most of the time the thermostat is low-voltage and either powered by batteries or receiving low-voltage power from the furnace itself. Many kinds of thermostats are available, ranging from non-programmable analog ones all the way to programmable digital thermostats. In-home digital thermostats come in programmable or non-programmable styles. In-home digital thermostats allow more precise temperature control than their analog counterparts. It is fairly easy to install an in-home digital thermostat, and all the tools needed are found at your local home improvement store.
