FM modulators allow you to use your antenna input in your car to run an extra line into the radio. This means you can plug in an MP3 player, DVD player or just have an auxiliary input to plug anything that uses a 3.5mm audio out. Many cars now come with the auxiliary input but if yours does not, the FM modulator may be the next best thing apart from installing an entirely new radio. The installation, while it may sound difficult, is very straightforward. Turn off your vehicle and locate the dashboard bezel that surrounds your radio. Pop it off by grasping it firmly and pulling up and out. All cars are different so check with the car manual for how exactly to remove the dashboard bezel. Unscrew the radio from its mounting brackets and place the screws aside. Most vehicles have four screws that mount the radio to the bracket.
