Installing an exterior light fixture can be done in a matter of hours. There are many different fixture designs, all of which basically use the same installation procedure. You can install your light to run off an existing circuit by tying into an outlet or on its own circuit by wiring to your breaker; consult an electrician to find out which is the best option for your home. Turn off the main electricity at the breaker. Select the location where you want your switch and outdoor light. Place the conduit box up to the chosen area for the switch and trace around it with a pencil. Cut out the area you have traced outdoors with your sawz-all.
