How Do You Install An Apache Server On Windows?

0

The Apache HTTP (Web) Server is the most popular Web server software according to the June 2009 Netcraft.com survey. It is open-source software that is available for Windows, Linux, Mac OSX and other operating systems. The default documentation for Apache is for a Unix-based installation, but there are additional documentation notes for the Windows OS. The Windows package comes in the form of an MSI Installer Package that is the default Windows installer. Download the latest Windows installer package from the Apache website. Double click the installer package to start the install process. Fill in the information for your server at the “Server Information” prompt. Select “For All Users, on Port 80, as a Service–Recommended” to install Apache as a service. Click on the “Apache2” icon in the Windows system tray to start the Apache server. Test the installation by typing “http:/localhost” in a Web browser address bar.
