The way to keep the intake air clean, is to periodically maintain the air filter mounted on this Boxer-style engine. Changing and installing the air filter on a Subaru WRX is simple and fast. Pull the hood release lever on the lower left portion of the dash to pop the hood. Lift the hood and place the prop rod in place so that you can work freely under the hood.
