How Do You Install An Air Filter In A Yamaha V-Star?
If you own a Yamaha V-Star, you’re in for a treat when it comes to routine maintenance. Yamaha integrated a side-mounted air filter compartment into the design, making the engine air filter more easily accessible than on most motorcycles and cars. By changing your engine air filter on a regular basis in accordance with the maintenance schedule of your V-Star, you can make sure your bike accelerates quickly and exhibits proper fuel economy. Locate the engine air filter compartment. This is on the right side of the bike, just beneath the seat. It is made of plastic, usually black, and the cover is held on with several Allen screws. Loosen and remove all of the Allen screws with an Allen wrench. Pull off the cover and set the screws inside the cover so that they don’t roll away from you. Loosen and remove the wingnut securing the air filter in place. This can be removed by hand. Set the wingnut in the removed filter compartment cover, too, so you don’t lose it. Slide the filter up and out
